Summer in Canada - Last Day

Our last day in Canada we took another boat ride towards Ottawa on the river. It was much chillier this time.

Tash and Izzy tried their luck at driving but the wind was a little tougher to steer through.

Pere got to ride with us this time.

We were all sad to leave.... but had a great time and can't wait to go back for Christmas!

Summer in Canada - Day Eight

Day eight we all awoke eager to see what the night line brought in. As we got closer to the end of the dock where the line was we noticed it wasn't taunt so figured we had nothing. As we started pulling in the line we felt something on the other end. Eventually we pulled out this little cat fish. The poor things mouth was all tore up but everything else was in good condition. We released him back into the water where he quickly swam away.

Later that afternoon we all got a big surprise. Ray and Diana finally bought their dream boat. We were all so excited... and jealous! The boat had to be brought down from above the dam on the Ontario side of the river. This is a picture of Ray his first time at the wheel... he looks just a little nervous!

Once Ray got the boat over to the dock we all jumped on for a ride up towards the dam.

Nick, Matt and Tash all got their chance at the wheel.

Dad and Cheryl enjoyed the beautiful weather and scenery.

As we got closer to the dam the boys started fishing. Matt was the first to hook one.

Summer in Canada - Day Seven

The next day we decided to take a drive to look around the country. The water was so loud coming down this river.

The boys...

I love this shot.... our daddy's rock!

When we got back to the cottage we decided it was time to set the night line. Tash got soaked trying to walk across the dock.

The boys went out in the canoe to drop the brick on the end of the line.

Me and my sister in law Diana just before the storms came rolling in.

The rain eventually stopped long enough for Matt to go fishing. Matt's grandfather, Urban looks on at his ugly pike!

Summer in Canada - Day Six

Once we got back from Mont Tremblant it was time to head back up to Quyon for our rendesvous back to the hunt camp. Even though the hunt cabin is pretty small.... there are many stories to share and beers to drink.

Dad, Danny and I headed back over the mountain to take a peak of the country. We found this tree being chewed by beavers. They are all over the country up there. It's a neat site to see.... but not so good for the boys.

Meanwhile, back at the hunt camp, everyone was sitting around the table telling stories. You stay inside as much as you can or you'll end up swatting the big horse flies all day.

The girls ventured out to play... while the boys tried to shoot at the target down the hill.

Nick's a really good shot!
We also went down to the old hunt camp. Nick couldn't resist taking a picture with his favorite cousin!

Here's Matt, Pere, me, Tash and dad in front of the old camp too.

Izzy and Tash worked on writing and playing their own music.

Priceless......

On our way out we checked the minnow catcher to see if we had something to take back with us for bait.

That night the girls entertained us with karaoke.

Summer in Canada - Day Five & Six

Danny and I had the pleasure of joining Ann and Chevy on their romantic get away to celebrate their anniversary. It's was totally unplanned for us which made it even more special. We hadn't taken many trips lately because the wedding wasn't too long ago. We headed up to Mont Tremblant, Quebec. It is known for it's skiing in the winter. The mountains were just beautiful.

We headed out early that morning to meet up with Chevy and Ann in Hull. We jumped in their car and away we went. The drive was a couple hours away. Our first task was to play the beautiful golf course called Le Diable. Ann and I had a few choice words on a few holes..... but that was okay as the beer flowed pretty well!

Here's a couple shot.... aren't they so cute!

The views were breath taking.

After a wet round of golf we all headed to the hot tub to warm up a little. Danny had a special surprise!

We had dinner at a La Farge. We sat on the second floor balcony over looking the ski village. The food was delicious as well! MMMMM.... Steak!

Afterwards I got to engage in my first taste at a beaver tail..... much better than it sounds! Fried dough with sugar, cinnamon and butter.

No one could resist a seat on the over sized adirondack chair. It was so cool!

A look at our hotel on the right and our dinner hangout on the left.

The hydrangas.... my favorite flower were HUGE up there.

Such cute snow bunnies!

Chevy and Ann waving to us from their chair on the gondola.

A neat view of the ski village.

Summer in Canada - Day Four

Finally we all got a very relaxing day. Danny headed to the city to play golf with the boys. The rest of us enjoyed the cooler temperatures and sunny skies.

Dad and Cheryl were basking in the sun in front of the cottage for a little while. Fred eventually took dad to meet all his Quyon friends. Dad said they didn't miss 1 beer fridge on the drive!

The kids played on the beach all day. Tash and Izzy and Matt and Nick both decided to try to build a volcano but unfortunately we didn't have enough baking soda to make a big eruption.

We hooked up a water soaker machine so the kids could run around in the water for a bit.

Here's Nick trying to figure out how to dump mud on Matt.

Izzy and Tash showing they know how to get down and dirty too!

We found a frog taking a break under the dock.

Silly Izzy.... you'd never guess she's a "girly girl"!

Later that afternoon I took the kids to swim at Mere and Pere's. Tash and Nick decided to try their luck on the diving board.

Izzy (and her blue lips) decided it was toooo cold!
