Izzy's Creme Recital

The last post I made was around the end of May.... and that means Recital time for Izzy! Oh my goodness was she soooo cute this year! Her costumes were just adorable.

The first dance was to "How much is that doggy in the window....". My picture didn't come out to clear.... but she was so cute! And the best part was when they "wagged their tail"! (she's on the back row)

Her facial expressions were priceless as she got so into the music!

The other girls are all classmates of her's at Creme. (Izzy's on the far right side).

This picture captures the girls just perfect.... each of them looking at something different. Danny and I always think Izzy is growing up so fast... but in comparison to the other girls she is so petite!

After the show Danny and I each got to take a special picture with Izzy and her flowers....

Creme Pep Rally

Get ready Bears! This morning Danny and I headed over to Izzy's school for a Pep Rally by the Creme de la Creme Bears! It was precious to see Izzy and a few of her class mates perform about 8 different cheers for their family and peers.

Izzy was on the front row in her Creme gear!

You should have heard this CLAP!

At the end the girls all got in formation. Do you see the smile on Izzy's face as she looks at her Daddy!

I love this picture.... Danny always cheeses so big when he's in a picture with Izzy. Such a proud Daddy!

Group photo!

This video isn't the clearest as I took it with my camera... but you get the gist. This was her entrance debut.

Bear's on the Loose..... on on the Loose!

Zoo Time

This memorial day weekend was a BLAST. Even though we stayed in Dallas we were busy going everywhere!

Saturday morning we got up bright and early to head to the Ft Worth Zoo. We figured it we got there first thing before the crowd it would be perfect timing to have the zoo to our self just a little.

Izzy was bright eyed the whole time. The flamingo's made for a great back drop on our first animal sighting!

I'm not sure what kind of bird this was.... but he had a funny colored yellow, black, and red beak.

We headed towards the back of the zoo in the Texas wildlife area. Danny and Izzy thought they might be able to hitch a ride in the buggy.... but no horses were attached.

The billy goat was busy eating and had no time for us to pet him. So we decided to pose for a picture with his bum.

The deer checked us out for a few seconds before he ducked back behind the brush again. We thought he was soooo cute.

After a little negotiation... we finally got Izzy to trust us that the alligator wasn't real. She jumped right on top of his nose.

Time for a little pony ride on "Fred".

Izzy and I both got to feed a couple of birds at the same time. They cleared off all the bird seed on my stick before flying off.

Izzy was able to get this little bird to come out from the fence to eat a little bird sead. So cute!

Hiding behind the ant mound.

This baboon was eating carrots near the water fall. He had scared off all the others by beating his chest right before this picture.

A final family shot on the way out. We had such a good time!

Izzy's New Room

Back in April we decided on our plans for painting Izzy's room. She was going to be gone for a week on vacation with her mom so we were on a short timeline to get it all completed and surprise her once she came back!

Her room was soooo plain before hand.... the paint color was the same throughout the entire house. Here is a "before" picture with her new quilt.

Old Wall color....

New Wall color.... and VERY scary at first! It was a bright lime green for the first few days.... you could see the color bouncing off all the walls outside her room.

It toned down a bit once we painted the ceiling white and added the crown molding around it. Danny worked hard to make sure all the cracks were filled around the mold. Lucy did a great job supervising also.

After the walls had dried we decided to try our luck with pink stripes. It took forever to get everything lined up correctly and evenly.

The pink color was a great "girly" touch!

We both had big smiles to see that our hard work had paid off once we starting pulling off the tape.

Our next big feature to work on was the tree. I had found it in Restoration Warehouse in a magazine. With a little help from the overhead projector we were able to get it drawn and painted on the wall. I think this was the night Danny and I stayed up until 3 AM to get it done.

While I was busy working on our life size tree, Danny worked on the bed he designed for Izzy. We found a few idea's out of a Pottery Barn magazine and Danny put it on paper for his guys at the office to build.

As you can see.... it is adorable!

We decided to add a little "personal" touch to Izzy's room by painting some wooden leaders white and atttaching them to her wall.
At the end of the day.... it was all perfect! The butterflies are so cute when the air comes on because they sway in the air.
