My Birthday

My birthday was on Monday so Danny surprised me with a delicious dinner at Boi Na Braza in Grapevine. It's a Brazilian steak house. I'd never been to one before so I was very excited to try this one. It was awesome.... highly recommended!

Tuesday night we had Izzy so I got to have another birthday! Danny and her went to the store to buy the ingredients for my favorite cake.... chocolate! Izzy decorated it all her self. Isn't it cute!

I'm such a lucky step mom!

High School Reunion

My high school reunion was over the weekend. It was so nice to see people that I hadn't seen in 10 years! A lot of people had changed so much I didn't even recognize them.

We started out going to Buffalo Joe's on Friday night. It's a new bar that definitely wasn't around when we were all in school. Here is me and Shawna!

Saturday night a lot more people came out to Celebrate It.

Danny and Coy tried hard to have fun!

Best friends all through school.... miss Tra so much!

Silly girls.... Ashley Autumn Powers, Melissa Pursifull, Alison Crockett, Autumn May, Shawna Cope, and me.

Tra and Aud.

Cheese!

Me and my hubby!

After party at Brian's.

Labor Day Weekend in Santa Fe

Danny and I were going to be alone for Labor day this year so we wanted to plan a trip somewhere. We have a trip planned for Cancun in early October so we wanted this trip to be small and simple. We finally decided on a road trip to Santa Fe. Neither of us had ever been and it was our first LONG drive. We took off on Friday about lunch and made it with no issues in about 9 hours . We took my car so we'd have the navigation system in case we got lost.

We booked our stay at the Buffalo Thunder Hilton resort just outside of town. It was a beautiful hotel with a casino and golf course all in one area.

Saturday morning we got up and headed to town where there were many art festivals going on. We stopped at the Burrito Company for breakfast. MMMMM... a burrito with chorizo and green and red chile sauce!

Saturday afternoon we scheduled a round of golf at Towa Golf Club. It was a neat course to play because the mountains were all around you and yet you were still in the desert with a bright green golf course running through the middle. There were storms rolling across the hills the entire time we were playing.

Sunday we took a drive up to Toas for the day. It was about 2 hours up the way and we took the "scenic" drive to get there.

We stopped a couple of times for pictures on the way....

We even found this little water way going over a huge ditch. We have no idea what it is.... but it was crazy the amount of water flowing.

There was a little river traveling beside the road the whole way up the mountain to Toas. Danny was itching to go fly fishing.

Once we got to the ski village we jumped on the lift to head up the mountain and look around. Here is a picture looking down.

We finally made it to the top.... Danny's very scared of heights so he was relieved to touch the ground again.

When we came down from the mountain we headed out to the Rio Grande Gorge Bridge. It's crazy! It's like your driving along and it's flat flat flat... and then all of a sudden there is this huge gorge that drops 650 feet below you. Danny was holding on for dear life!

On our way back to the hotel we stopped a local winery named Black Mesa for a tasting.

Our last night in Santa Fe we headed in to town for dinner. We found a mexican resturant that looked like it had been there for years. The food and atmosphere were both great. One of the owners sat down near us and played music on his guitar for us.
