Silly Boy

Colby's latest "thing" is saying cheese for the camera.  Or making any sort of silly face when the camera comes out.  I've not had the camera out too much lately.... so he must be getting lots of practice while at school.  Here are a few shots of his "thheesse" face.  He doesn't quite at the "ch" sound down yet.... it's all a work in progress!

And of course..... a picture with a toothbrush.  He loves those things!

I guess he was having a rough day that day.... he was a little fussy.... but Molly got a good hug out of it.

I love the way she puts her leg overtop of him.  Precious!

What's a Dentist?

The dentist.... this early?  That's what I thought too!

Turns out Dr. Cremer, Izzy and now Colby's dentist said we started our little guy just at the right time.  Colby had gotten in 4 of his molars over the past couple of months.  Seems like we waited forever to see that first little tooth pop through.... now he is 8 teeth away from having a full mouth of them!

This little guy.... just 2 days away from turning 17 months old was a pro at the dentist.

The nurse came in first to brush Colby's teeth and then brush a foam over them to cut any tartar that had built up on them.  Colby laid in daddy's lap with his head in the nurses lap quietly while she brushed away.

Then Dr Cremer came in and looked around in Colby's mouth... still... a perfect little gentleman.  It appears Colby will be getting in his "fang" teeth soon.  These are labeled as being the most painful for a toddler.  Mommy and Daddy aren't looking forward to that part as typically Colby gets a fever and is super cranky and tired just before a tooth reveals itself.  The fever scares us.... but mother mode kicks in and you do what you have to!

Colby walked out of the dentist with a new toothbrush and an alligator head cover.... as usual the toothbrush stayed in his mouth most of the time.

If you ever come to visit.... you will notice small toothbrushes all over our house.... it's Colby's fetish I guess......

The FW Stock Show with Family

Over this past weekend we had the pleasure of hosting my dad and step mom at our house.  We enjoy visits from our family and friends especially now that we have Colby as he's grown up so much and so fast!

My dad had spotted the Mule Show on at the Ft Worth Stock Show and Rodeo on the schedule for Saturday so it was a must that we attend!  We enjoyed a good BBQ sandwich, watching the mules pull carts and jump, watching a rodeo.... little man paid attention very well except when he fell asleep and Danny got his annual boot shine by the cobbler!

After the rodeo we decided to take Colby over to the small animal tent filled with goats, calves, rabbits and llama's which we could feed.  The line was long.... but Colby held strong to make sure he got to feed some treats.

We were even surprised by Uncle Ryan!

As you could see.... Colby had a tough time fighting off his yawns.  Mommy and Daddy were so proud of him as he was going from 7 am - 8:30 pm with nothing but about a 30 minute nap.  This guy usually sleeps 2 hours just after lunch.  I think Lolli was trying to make him feel better about yawning.

Colby, Lolli, Uncle Ryan and Pa made for a pretty picture!

Daddy started tickling Colby to wake him up!

I love this picture.... show's how my little man is NOT afraid of anything.  No FEAR!

Colby was grabbing one piece of food at a time and trying to shove it into the calves mouth.

And who can visit the Stock Show without saying hello to Borden's Elsie and her baby calf!

Canada Vacation (4th Post)

Look out.... we have an underage driver! Uncle Donny was a little confused about how to drive the boat so Colby tried to help.

Everyone quickly realized trying to feed Colby was a bit of an art project. It definitely took more than 1 if you wanted it to be smooth. Here Diana, Lolli and Nick all try their handywork with the little man.

I'm not sure who the food was for in this shot.... Nick might have tasted it here!

Colby and Aunt Diana were very happy to see the food was all gone in this picture.

I couldn't believe how old Colby looked in this picture.... he's only 10 months.... but looks like he's 2!

Right on the breaking point of walking on his own. Colby's takin a few steps here and there from chair to table while holding on to nothing. Here Lolli helps Colby iwht his footwork.

Uncle Donny found a friendly snake trying to cross near the dock.

Nick get's in a little snooze after the long day of playing.

Mere created a little high chair for Colby using the kids rocking chair, and a towel. He did pretty good the first little bit.... but soon enough he'd slide right out of it and make his way for something more appealing.

On the 4th of July I dressed the kids up in their special shirts for a few pictures on the lawn at the cottage. Colby did pretty good for about 2 pictures... then he was headed in a different direction. I atleast was able to snap one good one!

As always I got a beautiful smile out of Izzy.....

The boys often went out during the evening to try their luck at catching fish. The last couple of night we were there they got really lucky with some catfish and walleye. Dad was the lucky guy and got to cook it all.

Nick with the walleye..... this is a first for the Desabrais'.

Danny and Matt.... I can't believe how much Matt has grown up in the last few years.

Ray, Danny and Izzy worked on the fireworks for the 4th of July. Thanks to Aunt Diana we were able to celebrate our holiday in Canada with the family!

A few posts ago I wrote about dad planning to carry up wood that Danny's shop had cut out so that Donny could put together cabinets for Mere's kitchen. Danny and Donny worked hard before we left to make sure Donny understood the basics of his job at hand.

Mere had the most beautiful pots of flowers planted on oher deck at the house.

Tash, Colby and Nick take a little play time before we head out to the airport.

A few family shots.

Mere and Pere with the grandkids.

The Desabrais'....

Lolli and Pa with Mere, Pere, Izzy and Colby...

We're so lucky to have such an amazing group of family and friends back in Canada.... we love and miss you all dearly!

Canada Vacation (3rd Post)

We always try to head up to Canada around July 1st or Canada Day for our dear friends to the North of us. This year Pere signed us up to have a float in the parade. The kids and Aunt Diana worked hard to decorate the float. They even painted a part of the sign to say "Greeting from Paris Texas" in honor of Lolli and Pa!

The girls are all planning which tattoo's they plan to use. Colby even got one.

Pere takes his usual seat on top of the garage to watch the parade.

Nick and Matt ready to drive us down the road.
